Toshiba has released the Toshiba Excite X10 tablet, measuring 10.1 inches at the International Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Toshiba claims to Excite X10 is a 10-inch tablet thinnest and lightest ever produced.
Toshiba Excite X10 has a thickness of 7.7 mm, thinner than the iPad2 with 8.8 mm. It weighs only 544.3 grams compared iPad2 who still weighs 612 grams.
The screen panel is already using technology In Plane Switching (IPS). This screen is suitable for graphic designers because it has a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels. Interestingly, the Toshiba Excite X10 screen is already embedded with anti-stain, though Toshiba executives admit that there is no guarantee-screen tablet will stain free.
Toshiba Excite X10 designs using magnesium alloy material that is lighter than titanium material. However, with the material, Excite X10 is more fragile than iPad2 seem more solid.
While the connection supports Micro USB port, Micro HDMI ports, audio jacks, and SD card slot.
The components equipped with dual-core processor 1.2 GHz and 1GB RAM. Front camera supports a 5 Megapixel resolution, and 2 Megapixel in the back.
For system operation, Toshiba has not decided whether to use the Android 3.2 or Android 4.0 Honeycomb Ice Cream Sandwich, although this device has been qualified to be immersed Ice Cream Sandwich.
Toshiba Excite X10Tablet is going to be released to the market in the first quarter of 2012 with the price of U.S. $ 529.99 (16GB) and U.S. $ 599.99 (32GB).
