ASUS PadFone 2 unveiled in Taiwan, 1.5GHz quad-core, 13-megapixel, Android 4.0

Asus Padfone 2 finally officially introduced , an advanced hybrid product that combines the reliability of smartphones and tablet PCs that can be integrated 2-in-1. Padfone 2 is a combination of PCs, smart phones, and tablet thin design, light, elegant, simple, with a charming, but with innovative features and powerful.

The new Padfone 2 has a 4.7-inch, 720p Super IPS+ display, Qualcomm APQ8064 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, 13 megapixel camera with f/2.4 BSI sensor and 1080p30 or 720p60 video recording, NFC and a fixed 2,140mAh battery. The device runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich but a Jelly Bean update is promised in the near future.

The design of Asus Padfone 2 are rather large at the top and thinner at the lower end with a thickness of just 9mm with a weight of 135 grams. While the dock tablet-sized 10.1-inch screen is designed lighter and thinner with a weight of just 649 grams. If both are combined, then all the activity going on in the phone will automatically switch to the tablet PC is seamless and tailored to the size of the screen in a tablet.

Battery use is also claimed for longer than the previous generation. Smartphone tablet that uses a 2140 mAh battery, offering 16 hours of talk time while working on 3G networks and can be increased three-fold when the tablet is plugged into the dock station to 36 hours.

Asus Padfone 2 also comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera that can capture images up to 100 times the shutter in a matter of six images per second. Additionally simultaneously, the camera can also be used to record 1080p HD video in 30 frames per second (fps), or 720p HD video in 60fps.

For sound quality, Asus is still using technology made by SonicMaster and audio tuning of the Waves. Download speeds using HSPA + is claimed to reach 21 Mbps and uploads up to 5.76 Mbps. While with LTE, it is claimed download speeds up to 100 Mbps and upload up to 50 Mbps.

The Asus Padfone 2 will go on sale next week in Taiwan, with prices starting from NT$17,990 for the 16GB model to NT$21,901 for the 64GB model, which includes just the phone. The tablet bundle will cost you back NT$6,000 extra over each model’s price.
