Acer introduced its new tablet Acer Iconia A200 on Friday (12/02/2011). Acer Iconia A200 Android Tablet has a screen with dimensions of 10.1 inches and is equipped with 1 GHz processor dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2.
Specifications owned Acer Iconia A200 specifications can be called “normal” for tablets Android 3.2 Honeycomb for using 10.1 inches with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, dual-core processor Tegra 2, and 1GB of RAM.
The Acer Iconia A200 will come equipped with a full-size USB port, a microSD card slot, 2MP front-facing camera for video chat, 1GB of RAM, 8GB or 16GB of eMMC storage, Bluetooth, 3.5mm audio jack, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Acer clear.fi DLNA sharing, and support for services like Netflix, Google Music, and more.
Surprisingly enough, Acer Iconia A200 is not equipped with rear camera, to photograph and there is only 2MP front camera for video calls.
In addition, the Acer Iconia A200 is also not the thinnest on the market because it has dimensions of 260 x 12.4 x 175 mm and weighs 720 grams. Dimensions and weight of the tablet is just a little adrift with its predecessor, Iconia A500.
Acer offers two storage capacity in this tablet, 8 GB and 16 GB and with two color options titanium metallic gray or red. From the existing specifications, it looks like Acer will be positioned as a Acer Iconia A200 at an economical price.
Either the A200 is already shipping in select territories, or that was a typo in the press release (we’re currently awaiting a reply from Acer). In any event, shipments of A200 sporting Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) will commence in January 2012 worldwide, and current owners will get a free upgrade to ICS at that time.
Acer Iconia A200 will be available worldwide in the near future, but Acer has not announced the price information.
